artist statement
I am a visual artist, poet, and performer.
As a trained penciler and designer of textbooks of East Berlin punk bands,
writing and text has remained an important material. And as a trained artist
in the field of visual communication, I create works in public space, which are often
extensive participatory projects.
I tell stories about my surroundings with performances of sung and spoken poetry,
make thoughts and dialogues from the road audible and let us look behind the scenes
of art creation. Because that’s what drives me – being on the road, wide open spaces,
poetry in everyday life and connectedness.
Ich bin Bildende Künstlerin, Dichterin und Performerin.
Als gelernte Bleisetzerin und Gestalterin von handschriftlichen Textbüchern
Ostberliner Punkbands ist Schrift und Text ein wichtiges Material geblieben.
Und als ausgebildete Künstlerin im Bereich Visuelle Kommunikation schaffe ich
Arbeiten im öffentlichen Raum, die oftmals umfangreiche Mitmach-Projekte sind.
Mit Performances aus gesungener und gesprochener Dichtung erzähle ich von meiner
Umgebung, mache Gedanken und Dialoge von unterwegs hörbar und lasse hinter die
Kulissen des Kunstschaffens blicken.
Denn das treibt mich an – das Unterwegssein, der weite Raum, Poesie im Alltag
und Verbundenheit.
